St Patrick's Parade, Sun 15 March 2026

Everyone is invited to join Wellington's Irish community for the St Patrick's Festival on the Waterfront.

Please note: this year's Parade starts 12:45 pm from Te Papa and the Concert runs from 1:30pm to 4:30 pm at Queens Wharf under the Sails.

Live music starts with Paddy McCann from 12noon at Te Papa. As always, everyone is welcome to walk alongside their county flag on the day or wear green and join in the parade. The concert features music from Crossroads, Sláinte, Hutt Valley Children's Singers, and dancing from Gregan Irish Dancers, Kerry School of Irish Dancing and the Ryan-Dorris School of Dancing.

Come prepared to join in the fun. The ceílí is back, along with the crowd choir, and who will be this year's best dressed in green? There'll be face painting, art and crafts, storytelling and ice cream for the kids and a coffee cart. The GAA will be back on the sausage sizzle, so bring some cash.

This year, we end the day with a special prize draw and make sure you're there to lift the sails with everyone joining in the song Fields of Athenry.
