July Update

The COVID-19 lockdown has been a difficult time for all of us and resulted in Wellington Irish having to cancel several events which had been planned to take place over the last few months. But, we're delighted to share news about several events coming your way, including a very special evening for us to come together and reflect on those who have lost loved ones during this time.

An feast of events

An evening for catching up and remembering
The last few months have been a very challenging time for many in our community who feel very far from home right now, many of who have lost family members and been unable to travel.

We're holding a very special remembrance event - Irish style, at the Hudson Bar, Chews Lane on Wednesday, 5 August from 6.30pm.

If you have lost a loved one, whether here or at home, or missed a special occasion, please join us to commemorate their lives. This event is open to everyone and you are welcome to bring a photo. share a story or a chat over a pint.

Mid Winter Dinner
We're partnering with the Mount Victoria Hub and Innermost Gardens to deliver a special community dinner at the Innermost Gardens, Mount Victoria on Saturday 15 August.

A three course Irish inspired winter menu will be served on the night, accompanied by traditional Irish music from Andrew Kerr and Alan Norman. Tickets are strictly limited and subject to a koha on the night. This is a BYO event.

Annual General Meeting
The Hudson Bar, Chews Lane
Thursday 27 August at 7pm
We would love to see you join us for this year's Annual General Meeting which will be followed by an opportunity to catch up.  As usual we urge all our members to attend.
Current financial members will receive their AGM packs prior to the meeting.
And if you're in need of a regular fix of a traditional trad session, make sure you stick every Tuesday (usually at the Welsh Bar in Courtney Place) in your diary. Led by Andy Linton, it's a great way to spend an evening. Find out more at www.facebook.com/groups/WellingtonSession/
