Commemorating William Travers with a Botanic Bench

It was great to see so many  gathered in the Botanic Gardens recently to dedicate a community bench to the memory of William Travers, the Limerick-born explorer & politician who was partly responsible for founding the Gardens.

It was great to see so many  gathered in the Botanic Gardens recently to dedicate a community bench to the memory of William Travers, the Limerick-born explorer & politician who was partly responsible for founding the Gardens. Along with Ambassador Peter Ryan and an array of locals, it was extra special to be joined by members of the Taranaki, Auckland, Christchurch and Hutt Irish Societies.
